4 Tools to Monitor Conversations

Tinker – I like this tool because you can follow live discussions on Facebook and Twitter.

Samepoint and BoardReader are search tools for finding conversations by topics.

Commentful is great for businesses who want to monitor comments/follow-ups on blog posts, Digg, and others to be actively conversing with customers.

Miami Beach: Social Media Marketing Seminar

I attended a great Social Media Marketing Seminar yesterday sponsored by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Social media marketing can be hit or miss these days but I was surprised at the enthusiasm and the quality of attendees and speakers.

Below are links to the speakers and some other good stuff.

Special thanks to the speakers I saw:
Jessica Kizorek – Founder of The Viral Pulse
Jason Beukema- President of Whet Travel
Mande White- FreeSocialMediaHelp.com
Courtney Recht- Manager, Public Relations Norwegian Cruise Line

A few worthy links too!
Search Twitter Feeds- find who is tweeting in your zip code!
Tweetbeep – track conversations
Twitter Karma – manage friends

Mobile An Ecosystem of Engagement?

Before watching this video I truly believe mobile is the future. For the past six months I have been actively researching and working in mobile. If you follow trends and the research it is pretty evident that mobile marketing will have an impact on the future.

This video by MOCOM2020 clearly and convincingly outlines how mobile is the next game changer.

Imagination more important than knowledge?

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination, imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited, imagination encircles the world.” -Albert Einstein

First Lady Michelle Obama presented the 2009 National Design Awards. The video discusses going out into the community to let kids know they belong on the cutting edge of design and they belong in the world of discovery and science.

This is a great video. If you have time you should check this out.

“Ways To Better Conversation”

Watch Ways To Better Conversation in How to Videos  |  View More Free Videos Online at Veoh.com

Lessons we can learn from “Ways To Better Conversation (1950)”

“How to have a conversation” applies to today’s social media strategies:

A conversation is like a volleyball game. There is a equal back and forth but if you don’t participate, you drop the ball. So for today’s brand managers I say join the conversation and keep in mind the following rules:

Be courteous
Include everyone
Respect others opinions
Contribute
Stick to the subject
Be a good listener

Who would of thought a film from the 1950s could apply to today?

Today conversations happen whether or not you choose to participate. The key here is will your company be the facilitator or will it be left on the sidelines.
